The 6′ Raised Bed Planter is my all time favorite Smart Pot product. I love the size of it and the opportunities are endless. This year I have mini watermelon growing in one compartment, yellow neck squash in another, and cantaloupe in the 3rd compartment. This is year 3 using the same raised bed and it still looks great!

Rated a 3 because I haven’t used it yet, but I’ve opened and laid out on my deck. Need to find a good location before adding soil since this will hold at least 4-6 large bags of raised bed garden soil.

Hey Derral! Thank you for being a Smart Pot Gardener 🌻

Smart Pot containers perform great on dirt, grass, cement, landscape fabric, wood, etc. Make sure there is some slight slope if you are putting your Smart Pot on a non-porous surface. Just enough so there is no standing water for extended periods. If you have a treated wood deck, it might be wise to have your Smart Pot (and all potted plants) in a saucer. Many users combine bricks or stones to elevate the Smart Pot out of standing runoff water. Users have placed, especially large Smart Pots, on wooden pallets, which increases drainage, aeration, and air-pruning of the roots. Because aeration is increased significantly, users may need to irrigate a bit more frequently. Gardeners are using virtually every potting mix in the Smart Pot. Because the Smart Pot aerates, heavier mixes can be used. Obviously, Smart Pots filled with lighter mixes that are less water retentive may need to be watered more often. We also recommend adding a good mixture of compost to your Smart Pots for optimal results!

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you thrive in your Smart Pot Garden. 💚
